Search operations for missing aircraft ongoing in Masbate

Pres. Aquino (left photo) personally supervises search (and rescue?) operations for the missing Sec. Jesse Robredo and two other companions. Robredo and company were in a Piper Seneca plane that tried to do an emergency landing at Masbate airport yesterday afternoon, but did not make it to the runway. It fell into the sea about 500 meters from the airport.

Assets of the Navy and Coast Guard are in the area, supporting efforts by local government agencies to find the aircraft - and the passengers -as quickly as possible.
