DOTC SEC MAR ROXAS announced at 9:20 AM today that Sec. Jesse Robredo's body had been found. At a press conference at the command post at Lasala Beach, Roxas said divers found the aircraft fuselage at 7:35 AM. They saw bodies inside, and by 8:15 AM identified one of them as that of Jesse Robredo.
The body is now on board one of the Coast Guard ships in the area.
Roxas was teary-eyed and his voice cracking when he announced the finding of Robredo's body. Divers are working to extricate two other bodies inside the aircraft. They are believed to be those of Capt. Jessup Bahinting and co-pilot Kshitiz Chand.
Roxas said President Noynoy Aquino had been informed, and Aquino in turn had called the Robredo family of the sad news.
