Another tropical storm is forming in the Pacific Ocean southeast of Japan, far northeast of the Philippines. It may not enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility, but like TS Damrey that made TY Gener (SAOLA) stay longer within PAR, this new storm could further enhance the southwest monsoon and bring stronger rain onto Metro Manila and western Luzon.
Take note, too, that TS 12W may develop winds as strong as 110 knots, that's 203 kilometers per hour, by 1800 hours GMT on July 7, 2012. That's 2:00 AM on July 8, when the storm should be between Taiwan and Japan.
