Inakusahan ng Palasyo ng Malakanyang ang mga anti-sin tax reform bill na pakana lang ng mga ito ang diumanoy paglaganap ng smuggling ng yosi sa bansa. Sinabi ni Communications Sec. Ricky Carandang na hindi naniniwala ang palasyo ng malakanyang na mas magiging talamak ang smuggling ng mga produktong tabako o sigarilyo sa bansa kahit maisabatas ang sin tax bill. .
Ikinatwiran pa ng kalihim na ginagamit lang itong sangkalan ng mga lobbyist ng tobacco firms para hadlangan ang pagtaas ng g buwis sa kanilang produkto.   
Iginiit ni Carandang na hindi naman pababayaan ng customs at ng mga awtoridad ang paglaganap ng smuggling ng yosi dahil kahit sa ibang bansa ay hindi nila nakikita ang talamak na smuggling nito.

The cost of smuggling the cigarettes in would that be… I mean, it's always one of the arguments that have been used against the Sin Tax, and they've been used even in other countries that if you increase the prices then it will increase smuggling. But we haven't seen that happen in other countries and we don't think that would… If it doesn't happen in other countries, I don't see it necessarily happening here.

SSS premium hike, dapat pag-aralang mabuti, ayon sa palasyo!

FLORANTE///NOV292012. DAPAT umanong masusing pag-aralan ng SSS ang planong pagtaas sa premium ng mga myembro nito.

Ginawa ni deputy presidential spokesperson Usec. Abigail Valte ang pahayag matapos ihayag ng SSS na kailangang magtaas ng premium para makabayad sa mga pensyonado at utang nito. Iginiit ni Valte na hindi dapat ipatupad ang pagtaas sa premium kung hindi dumaan sa konsultasyon sa mga miyembro ng SSS.

Ikinatwiran ni Valte na mas papanigan ni Pang. Aquino ang kapakanan ng mga miyembro ng SSS bago aprubahan ang planong premium increase.

Nabatid na planong itaas sa 11 percent mula 10.4 percent ang kontribusyon ng mga miyembro ng SSS.
