Roxas at Abaya itinalaga ng pangulo bilang DILG at DOTC secretaries

HINIRANG na ni Pangulong Noynoy Aquino si DOTC Sec. Mar Roxas bilang DILG Secretary at ipinalit naman sa DOTC si Cavite Cong. Joseph Emilio Abaya.

(FLORANTE ROSALES, REPORTER/ANCHORMAN)

Jesse Manalastas Robredo
1958 - 2012
The late Sec. Jesse Robredo's remains were given final honors today by elements of the Philippine National Police and Armed Forces of the Philippines, during the State Funeral at Naga City.

A battalion composed of one platoon each from the PNP, Philippine Army, Air Force and Navy rendered the final salute for Robredo, with a firing party from the PNP and taps being played by Army band members. President Aquino himself gave the Philippine flag to Atty. Leni Robredo, the secretary's widow. Before the finals honors, a requiem mass was held at the Basilica Minore, followed by the conferment of the Legion of Honor, Rank of Chief Commander, to the deceased public servant who also served as mayor of Naga City.

Thousand of Bicolanos and people coming from other regions, even from the Visayas and Mindanao, came to Naga City to say their final goodbyes to Robredo, and an outpouring of sympathy and applause for the accomplishments of Jesse Robredo - and the kind of leadership he exhibited while in office - continue to spread all over the internet.

Coast Guard gives honor to Robredo

Philippine Coast Guard personnel paid the late Sec. Jesse Robredo last honors by blowing the horns of all seacraft simultenously at noon of the day he was buried in Naga City. In photo, a senior Coast Guardsman pushes the horn button on his ship, while other members of the PCG salute on the deck right next to PCG headquarters at the Manila South Harbor.
