President Aquino takes Jesse Robredo home

Air Force personnel (left) fixed the Philippine flag on the metal casket bearing the remains of Sec. Jesse Robredo (DILG) before it is unloaded from a C-130 cargo plane at Naga City airport. Robredo was found lifeless inside the aircraft that carried him and three others from Cebu City on Saturday afternoon.

The aircraft was located at 7:35 AM today about 800 meters from the shoreline of Masbate island, in waters about 180 feet deep.

President Aquino is seen in the background, wearing black and facing the casket. The president stayed the whole night Sunday till this morning, flew to Manila to attend ceremonies for his father's death anniversary, and then flew back to Masbate upon getting the report that Robredo's body had been found. He then accompanied the body to Naga City and met Mrs. Leni Robredo, Jesse's widow, at the Naga City airport.
