San Beda law student dies of hazing?

Mark Andrei Marcos
Twitter on Monday night became viral as it spread the news of the alleged death of a San Beda Law student, due to injuries obtained from hazing.

The victim, Marc Andrei Marcos, was reportedly taken to the DLSU Medical Center in Dasmariñas, Cavite, according to the Facebook account of the San Beda College of Law - Law Student Government.

"..at about 3pm this afternoon, we have received reports that a 1st year Bedan law student, Marc Andrei Marcos from 1P, has been confined at the DLSU Medical Center, Dasmarinas, Cavite, but he did not make it," said the post.

The College has condemned another killing and prompted to find out the fraternity behind the heinous crime.

The victim is a UST-AB LM graduate.

Classes resume in some areas

Classes are back to normal in most areas today, except in places where flooding may be worsened by an abnormally high tide. At 7:46 AM, high tide in Manila Bay is predicted to be as high as 1.39 meters. This will make it longer for flood waters in areas experiencing strong rain to recede.

As of 7:00 AM, Gov. Remulla has declared a suspension of classes in all preschool, elementary, and high schools in Cavite today. Laguna also declared a suspension.

Meanwhile, weather experts say a new tropical storm that has formed south of Japan is somehow affecting the behavior of TS Gener within the Philippine Area of Responsibility. TS Damrey (TS 11W) will move west-northwestward closer to where Gener (TS 10W) is headed - the China mainland. As it moves, it slows down Gener, making it stay a little longer within the PAR.

Storm GENER to bring more rains

Tropical Storm GENER is expected to enhance the prevailing southwest monsoon, dumping more rain in Metro Manila and most of Luzon. As the storm moves along the northeastern Luzon seaboard toward Taiwan, the local weather agency PAGASA predicts continuous rain on western Luzon due to the monsoon.

Meanwhile, tide forecasts for Manila Bay are above normal. This morning's high tide, at around 6:40 AM, was at 1.32 meters. Tomorrow at around 7:40 AM, it will be at 1.39 meters, and on Wednesday, by 8:36 AM, it will be at 1.42 meters. Abnormally high tides in Manila Bay means river channels and other waterways toward Manila Bay wont subside fast, worsening the effect of the heavy rains.

Smugglers, ilalantad
