Classes resume in some areas

Classes are back to normal in most areas today, except in places where flooding may be worsened by an abnormally high tide. At 7:46 AM, high tide in Manila Bay is predicted to be as high as 1.39 meters. This will make it longer for flood waters in areas experiencing strong rain to recede.

As of 7:00 AM, Gov. Remulla has declared a suspension of classes in all preschool, elementary, and high schools in Cavite today. Laguna also declared a suspension.

Meanwhile, weather experts say a new tropical storm that has formed south of Japan is somehow affecting the behavior of TS Gener within the Philippine Area of Responsibility. TS Damrey (TS 11W) will move west-northwestward closer to where Gener (TS 10W) is headed - the China mainland. As it moves, it slows down Gener, making it stay a little longer within the PAR.
