Filipina and Bangladeshi BF found dead in Singapore hotel

A Filipino maid and a Bangladeshi man believed to be her lover have been found dead at a budget hotel in Geylang. An undated photo at left, from Facebook, shows the victims, Ms. Rezzilyn Lodia Vinegas, 33, and Mr Mohamad Sumon Lutfar, 22, at a public swimming pool sometime before the killings.

The bloodied bodies of Ms Rezzilyn Lodia Vinegas, 33, and Mr Mohamad Sumon Lutfar, 22, were found in a room at the Summer Hotel on Sunday night.

Both victims were discovered with cuts on their bodies and were pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics at about 11.50pm. Police received the call from the hotel at 11.40pm, after hotel staff discovered the bodies. A receptionist of  Summer Hotel, located along Lorong 22 Geylang, had gone up to the second-storey room after his calls for the couple to return the key went unanswered, reported The New Paper . According to the receptionist, Vinegas, who was naked with only a towel, was lying motionless on the bloodstained sheets of the bed, while Md Sumon, a regular customer of the hotel, was also found motionless on the bathroom. He was wearing only a pair of briefs. A knife was recovered by police from the gruesome scene.

According to reports, Vinegas and Sumon had met about half a year ago and started going steady a few months later. Sumon, who worked in an air-con company, would give lavish gifts such as a silver necklace to Vinegas. The couple even got engaged.
